Mareeg.com-The president of Khatumo State who is also a Somali parliamentarian Prof. Ali Khalif Gallayr was ordered to leave Addis Ababa as soon as possible.
The Ethiopian government expelled him from Addis Abeba where he was attending a conference on federalism organised by HESPI. The Ethiopian government didn’t detail the reason as to why he was expelled. Independent reports say the Ethiopian government decided so in order to avoid tension with Somaliland or Puntland who oppose Prof. Ali Khaliif Gallayr and his Khaatumo State. On the other hand, officials from HESPI didn’t detail why Ali Khaliif was forced out from Addis Ababa. Prof. Ali Khaliif is a US Citizen as well. He holds dual citizenship. He contacted the US Embassy in Addis Ababa but no one knows what they discussed.
Prof. Ali Khaliif Gallayr was elected the president of Khatumo State on the 14th August 2014. He was once a Somali Prime Minister.
